Online backup made easy

Until now I’ve backed up all my data with Time Machine (the user-friendly backup software that lets me go back in time and recover all my files if my laptop should crash).

Time Machine is excellent if you have an external USB-drive or a Time Capsule (which unfortunately is the only WiFi based harddrive it supports). However it isn’t necessarily a good idea to have your backups stored in the same building as your computer, in case of fire, theft, an earthquake or whatever.

Dropbox: File sharing made easy

Last week I was introduced to Dropbox, a free cross-platform file sharing utility. It works as an online memory stick, and you can access your files anywhere as long as you have an Internet connection avaliable.
